Today I was passing through the front office at City Center and Ken retrieved a box of Swingline Finger Protectors from the back of a desk drawer and put one on his finger and held it up wondering why there was such a plentiful supply.  I said, well they’re probably relics from when there more analog tasks, sorting stacks of reservations, work orders, etc.  But then it was very pleasing to think of how these very analog tasks are in some lexical way, digital, i.e., done with the fingers.   I love how the analog and the digital come together in these strange little items for protecting the fingertips.
